  • Current Roadmap

    • Werewolf and Witch DApp Game (https://werewolfandwitch.xyz)

      • This is a NFT WAR Game created to implement fairness through Move. It allows players to battle through Move smart contracts within each Werewolf and Witch NFT faction and earn prizes in a decentralized manner. Currently, game seasons have ended, and we aim to operate the next season with more improvements. We're also adding utility games based on activity within the WAR Game to ensure sustainable operation.

    • Beast Collector NFT Game (https://beast.werewolfandwitch.xyz)

      • This is an extension DApp game that uses War Coin from Werewolf and Witch.

    • Beast Collector Card Game (https://www.beastcollector.com/)

      • This game is played using Beast NFTs obtained within Beast Collector.

Why is blockchain needed in games?
  1. Some well-known gaming companies have manipulated the statistics of in-game items to maliciously induce customer payments, leading to cases where gamers were outraged, and legal disputes arose. In the current situation in Korea, the law mandates the publication of the probability of all in-game items. Nevertheless, manipulation of probabilities within games still prevails, and gamers find it difficult to detect such practices. Gamers have become powerless in such situations and find it hard to trust game companies.

  2. In the case of Beast Collector NFT Game, the Move Smart Contract code is used to obtain Beast NFTs. Blockchain technology is necessary because it transparently and fairly protocolizes the probability of obtaining assets within the game. Gamers who have suffered losses due to the manipulation of in-game item probabilities may find trust in blockchain technology through these means.

What is Beast Collector?
  1. Beast Collector is an expansion game produced as a sub-game of the Werewolf and Witch NFT WAR Game. It was created because there was a strong response to various Move-based DApp Games aimed at increasing the utility of the WAR coin.

  2. There are over 270 Beast NFTs that can be discovered by exploring with Trainer NFTs once a day, and after obtaining an Egg NFT, you can hatch it to acquire Beasts. We created a Card Game (https://www.beastcollector.com/) with these Beasts, which will be released soon.

What is the updated Roadmap?

Initially, after the Werewolf and Witch DApp Game, we planned to create MOBA and MMORPG games. However, the introduction of Beast Collector as a sub-game led to the addition of a TCG card game, and we are planning to create an NFT marketplace where these can be traded.

Why did you create the Card Game?

Initially, there was a request to create something that would allow players to use the Beasts obtained from the Beast Collector NFT Game for battles. Instead of a game where the outcome is determined by simply clicking, we started creating a more sophisticated game that would provide more fun.

We also wanted to give gamers a clearer reason to use blockchain through card games. Here, we implemented the acquisition of unmanipulated, transparent probability cards through blockchain, with the hope that gamers would be attracted to the advantages of blockchain and engage with this chain with a purpose.

What is the Beast Collector RPG Game?
  1. We had contemplated creating an RPG game, but there were two challenging aspects.

  2. The first was network latency issues. MMORPG or MOBA games require fast network latency of less than 100 ms. This would involve having servers for each region to allow players to enjoy the game. In the case of Card Game, even with relatively slow latency servers, gameplay is possible. To bring more people together within a game, we had to choose a limited game genre.

  1. The second reason was the lack of personnel within the team who could design 3D game character models. This issue has now been resolved, and we are planning to create a MOBA game for our next project. We believe that for a pleasant gaming environment, regional server operation may be necessary, starting with the MOBA game.

What are the plans for Beast NFTs in Beast Collector?
  1. We plan to provide utility by using them as Cards in the Card Game. Currently, there is no mechanism for Burning within the Beast Collector NFT Game. We intend to address this through our Utility within the Card Game, welcoming even pure gamers to the Aptos ecosystem by encouraging them to purchase NFT Cards.

  2. We are also considering the idea of facilitating the transfer of digital assets between on-chain and off-chain games. However, we believe that to increase the value of minted NFTs, it's crucial to move on-chain NFTs into the off-chain game within the game and then burn them.

What will happen to the Beast Collector game?
  1. For the Beast Collector NFT game, we plan to continuously reduce the generation of Beast NFTs through algorithms. Gamers in the Beast Collector Card Game will be guided to install the Aptos wallet, find their desired Beast NFT in the NFT market, and use it as a card. We also intend to create instructional video content, guiding users on how to install the Aptos wallet, purchase NFTs, and perform Burning, among other procedures.

  2. We are developing an NFT marketplace for Beast NFT holders. This marketplace will continually record the trading prices of Beast NFTs, display them on charts, and focus on creating a design that makes it easy to understand the price increases and returns related to Beasts. To avoid competition with other NFT marketplace within Aptos, we plan to make only Beast NFTs tradable.

How will WAR Coin be used in the future?

In the Card Game, WAR Coin can be used to purchase not only Beast Cards but also spell cards, trap cards, and hero cards. Similar to Beasts, we aim to create utility through this and plan to establish continuous utility in future games.

What are your thoughts on Play-to-Earn (P2E) games?
  1. Gaming has evolved into a profession with professional gamers emerging, and games like League of Legends have become official sport at events like the Asian Games. However, in some countries, earning money from games is still considered gambling and falls under regulatory scrutiny. Since we have companies in countries subject to such regulations, we cannot currently incorporate clear functionality supporting this.

  2. On the other hand, typical P2E games allow players to generate tokens through gameplay, which can be sold for profit. In such structures, it is usually necessary for the next person to support the demand for these tokens, and in times of low liquidity, such as high interest rates or economic downturns, such structures are difficult to sustain.

  3. For our Earn aspect, we want to create a supply and demand structure. The Beast NFT DApp within Aptos is a supply-side game, and the Card Game is a demand-side game. Supply will decrease according to the algorithm of the Move contract, and as Card Game popularity increases, we anticipate an increase in demand.

Why do games need blockchain?

In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I observed people in Southeast Asia using blockchain games to make a living. It was impressive to see how blockchain was utilized as a means to resolve someone's poverty and sustain their livelihood. The idea that people could engage in economic activities like a fiat currency-based capitalist system through blockchain games was eye-opening. Therefore, I believe that games are needed in the blockchain ecosystem. We created our first game this year and released it within the Aptos community, and we are grateful to the Aptos community for giving us confidence in game development. We hope to continue developing good Web3 games within the Aptos ecosystem.
